Dell PowerVault 200S Storage Array


A high performance storage system boasting exceptional server management features, the Dell PowerVault 200S supports up to eight 1.0” or 1.6” Ultra2 LVD SCSI hard-disk drives via a SCSI backplane board and special SCSI hard-disk drive carriers. Drive installation is made easier because the SCSI backplane automatically configures SCSI ID numbers on individual hard-disk drives.

Dell PowerVault 200s storage systems are created for use with Dell PowerEdge 1300, 2300, 2400, 2450, 4300, 4350, 4400, 6300, 6350, and 8450 systems.

Dell 200S Features:

  • Supports maximum eight 1.0” or 1.6” Ultra3 SCSI hard-disk drives when using an ESM, SMM, or SEMM, with an approved Ultra3 SCSI or RAID controller
  • Configure the SCSI backplane as an eight drive (1×8) backplane or electrically split into two separate four-drive (2×4) backplanes
  • Hot-pluggable drives if an optional or Dell PowerEdge
  • Expandable RAID Controller (PERC) 2, Dell PERC 2/DC, Dell PERC 2/SC, or Dell PERC 3/DI host adapter card is installed in the host computer.
  • Hot pluggable power supply with optional redundant second power supply
  • Two hot-pluggable cooling fan modules with an optional redundant third cooling fan module
