The IBM System Storage DS8100 base models support one expansion model. This model is available in Model 921 and Model 931. By utilizing a single expansion model, you can increase the capacity of the Model 921 or Model 931 with up to 384 disk drives, for a maximum capacity of 384 TB.


Features of the IBM DS8100 include:
  • Dual 2-way processor complex
  • Up to 128 disk drives, for a maximum capacity of 128 TB
  • Up to 128 GB of processor memory (cache)
  • Up to 16 fibre-channel/FICON or ESCON host adapters
