Both the Sun Fire V215 server and the Sun Fire V245 server feature one or two CPUs, 1MB of L2 cache, eight DDR1 DIMM slots, four 10/100/1000 megabit Ethernet ports, and two rear USB 2.0 connectors.

The Sun Fire V215 is available in a rack-optimized 1RU form factor, while the Sun Fire V245 is available in a 2RU form factor. The Sun Fire V215 offers expanded I/O slots and four Gigabit Ethernet ports, as well as hot-plug, front-accessible SAS disks and redundant power supplies. These features make the Sun V215 simple to maintain, service, and upgrade.
