With support for a broad range of enterprise class server operating systems and up to eight Intel Xeon E7-8800 processors, the Sun Server X2-8 is considered the most powerful and expandable system in Oracle’s x86 server line.

In a modular 5U enclosure, the Sun X2-8 delivers twice the low voltage memory (up to 4TB) and twice the internal storage (up to 4.8TB) over the previous generation server.

The Sun Server X2-8 includes new RAS features including hot swappable components like PCIe ExpressModules, front accessible disk drives with RAID enabled redundancy, and redundant and hot-swappable fans and power supplies. Flexible enough to grow with increasing requirements, the Sun X2-8 can be a perfect replacement server for legacy HP Itanium and IBM Power Systems servers.
