CPU Board for the SunFire V480 / V880

Includes two mounted 1200Mhz CPUs and 16 DIMM slots populated with 256MB DIMMs or 4GB of Memory combined.

The memory can be upgraded to 512MB or 1GB Sun DIMMs for up to 16GB of RAM per board.

The V880 can host 4 X6895As (8CPUs, 64GB RAM max), while the V480 can host up to 2 X6895As (4 CPUs, 32GB max).

Special Notes:

1) Minimum OS is Solaris 8 (10/01 with all applied patches), OBP 4.10.8 or higher is recommende (although 4.7.5 has been published as the minimum).

2) The UltraSParc III 1200Mhz CPUs are Cheetah+ or Cheetah++

3) Mixing speeds not supported in the V880

4) Interleaving is limited to memory on the same CPU/Memory Board. 2-Way interleaving occurs in any group when the DIMM size doesn't match the size used in any other memory bank. 4-Way interleaving occurs between any two memory banks when the DIMM sizes are the same. 8-Way interleaving occurs when the DIMMs in all four banks are the same size.

5) The minimum memory allowed is 16 DIMMs in banks A0, A1, B0 and B1. All memory within any one memory bank must be the same capacity.
