The Cisco 10GB ZR module isn't actually part of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet Standard, but is built according to Cisco's optical specs. It supports lengths up to approximately 80km over Single Mode Fiber. Dual SC/PC Connector. Transmitter wavelength of a narrow range from 1530nm to 1565nm and an extinction ratio of 9dB. The Receiver has an optical input wavelength of 153nm to 1565nm as well with a dispersion tolerance up to 1600ps/nm. Supports 10GBASE Ethernet, Hot-swappable input/output, plugging into the Ethernet X2 ports of Cisco Switches and Routers for linking these ports with the network offering the network admin options in choice of interface. On the same link, there is optical interoperability with respective 10GBASE Xenpak models as well as 10GBASE XFP and 10GBASE SFP+ modules. The 10GBASE X2 Modules offer great connectivity choices for any network cabinet, data center or wiring closet in the enterprise environment or for service provider transport uses.
