HP ML110 Server Review: The all new HP ML110 is designed primarily for businesses that are ready to take the plunge with a purpose built server, and those with limited on-site IT resources. The first in the HP series to be equipped with Intel’s state of the art Xeon E-3 processor, the HP ProLiant ML110 comes appointed with an extensive list of features, most of them geared towards small and medium size enterprises. 

Although the HP ML110 is marketed as an entry level server, it packs a whole lot in its compact chassis starting with its unmatched range of storage options and its exclusive iLO3 controller, which grants IT administrator’s remote access to the server for increased diagnostics and remote server management capabilities. 

The HP ML110 come with an impressive list of processor options, and can be had with a Core i3 or with a choice of five Xeon E-3 engines. If you’re looking for a cost efficient processor, the 3.1GHz E3-1220 is an excellent choice. This model comes standard with the base version of the HP ML110, and also includes a 250GB SATA hard drive. 

In terms of storage, the HP ML110 fails to disappoint, with a lockable front panel that shields the hard disk cage, which sports four removable drive carriers. In the base model, the HP ML110 backplane is wired directly to the RAID controller, which supports mirrors, stripes and cold swap drives.
