The Cisco WS-C4900M is an innovative extension that is compatible with the Catalyst series and is exclusively designed for data network centers. It can be deployed with 1:1 uplink-to-downlink oversubscription for 10/100/1000 server access, and all Gigabit server environments. The C4900M switch also provides low latency, high availability and extended buffer memory and is appointed with 8 fixed wire-speed X2 ports. Although the Catalyst 4900M switches come with an extensive list of features, its most distinct ones include rack mountable form factor, 8 ports, 10 Gbps data transfer rate, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, layer 3 switching, BOOTP support, IGMP snooping, IPv6 support, jumbo frames support and port status and power indicators.
