The Sun Fire X2250 is a high-performing, affordable server intended for large-scale HPC and Web infrastructure deployments involving hundreds or thousands of systems. The Sun Fire X2250 server is compatible with most leading operating systems and is easy to manage, increasing uptime and lowering service costs.

The Sun Fire X2250 offers a choice between dual-core or quad-core Intel Xeon processors. The first server from Sun to use the 1,600 MHz FSB version of the Intel Xeon processor 5400 series, the Sun X2250 can run compute-intensive applications up to 20 percent faster.
